Default Mil-Sim only event

Hi all

Sorry for being quiet lately. I have been working on the Mil-Sim tournament idea and putting some rules etc together.

Just in the process of finishing off the first draft and will be sending it to some of the NPF guys for their feedback etc before we post it on here.

Keep an eye on the thread!

Cheers

Just as a siide note: we did have the tippman tourny at npf whcih was replaced last yr with the uwl, only tippman markers were allowed, so u could use those rules as a starting base.

Is there a big enough Milsim market out there?

There's a lot of us at diamond wars not using milsim markers and not likely to go out and buy them.

Are tippmanns really milsim? I mean, show me a gun that looks like a 98? if you were just to say "milsim only" where do you draw the line? Does it have to be a replica firearm, or does a black ion with a scope selotapped to it count? Seems a little dubious to me. surely the limits should be placed on the performance of a marker, not its outfit?

ninja edit: hence my vote... what's milsim

Milsim/Tactical is about the style of play and less about the look of the marker. We play full on Tactical paintball at Prozone where All markers have to have a tactical hopper (30-50 rounds) or be magfed. On top of that all players are restricted to 200 rounds per mission. So you can take your Ego or Angel out on the field but it will have a tactical gravity fed hopper on it and you will only have 200 paintballs for that mission.
This forces players to think about what they are shooting at and try and make every shot count which means that stealth and tactics play a much bigger part than the usual wall of paint approach.
